James 4:6 (NLT)
“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

The scriptures always talk about God’s grace in abundance. He generously and lavishly pours out his grace to us. But it is conditional! This verses refers to another scripture Prov3:34. that emphasises that God resists pride & scorn but gives grace to the humble. So humility, a humble heart, unlocks God’s grace in our lives.

Humility acknowledges the sovereignty of God, which helps restrain man’s propensity for self importance and pride. We can truly submit ourselves to one another and serve each other. 1 Peter 5:5 admonishes us to “Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another” and again quotes “God opposes the proud” This is very important to God. Pride is the strength of sin and can completely block the grace God desires to pour into our lives.

Lord help us to stay humble before you and others so that we are worthy of the grace you desire to pour into our lives. Help us to realize our dependency on You and open our eyes to anything else in our hearts that would block/ hinder that grace. #Grace #Humility #Humble #pride #21daysofgrace
